VERDANT ENGINEERING LIMITED
has a successful history of completing renewable energy projects in all countries of the UK & also in Europe, and has been operating for more than 16 years.
Founder, Director and Lead Engineer Richard Curtis did his first degree in Electronic Engineering at Canterbury University in 1994 then went on to complete one of the very first Masters Degrees in Renewable Energy at Loughborough University in 1996.
Richard began his career working for Proven Energy in the west of Scotland and then continued with the Engineering Business (EB) in Northumberland (including working on the Stingray tidal stream generator in Shetland), before starting his own company R.C. Engineering Solutions in 2004 focusing on renewable energy projects across the North East of England.
With increasing success, in 2007 he developed the business into a limited company and rebranded it as Verdant Engineering Ltd. with a much wider perspective covering the whole of the UK, plus projects in Europe and also further afield.
Verdant Engineering Limited specialises in renewable energy consultancy, training & project management on both a local and an international scale.
Claire Lumley, Director and Company Secretary – studied Environmental Land Management at Newton Rigg College in Cumbria, then went on to work for a series of environmental organisations and charities, focusing on funding, practical conservation, community engagement & development in the North East of England.
Claire then continued her studies with a Masters Degree in Values & the Environment at Lancaster University in 1996, and is particularly interested in environmental philosophy and the human impact on the planet.
Following a break in her career she joined Richard in his work in 2004 and subsequently became Company Secretary and a Director of Verdant Engineering Ltd.
